Writing, Agency, and Metaphysics

So I’ve been on a little hiatus. I’ve been looking for a night job to make some money and pay my bills. Auditioning is moving very slow, in fact, the slowest since I’ve been in LA. I’ve kept myself busy writing. I had written a web series for sh!ts and giggles about a year ago. I found out about a Pilot Contest that FOX is holding and decided to convert the web series into a 25 to 35 page pilot based on the FOX rules. What have I learned? 1) I enjoy writing. 2) My friend Saúl and I compliment each other as writers. 3) I like writing comedy. 4) Pick up, Crafty TV Writing: Thinking Inside the Box by Alex Epstein. It’s a great read filled with information!

You don’t always get an opportunity to act but you can certainly practice at home, read scripts, and write. I think it helps you view scripts easier to break them down. I have new agents at my agency. Contrary to what my agency says, they are not submitting as often as my previous agents. I can tell by my IMDB score. See if your numbers lower then their are more people checking up on you but if it rises, they are not. Mine has risen quite a bit. Maybe it’s time to move on or maybe I just need to be patient. I’ve accomplish quite a bit in the short time I’ve been in LA.

One thing is certain, I am learning and reminding myself, acting is also a metaphysical trip. See, don’t ask the universe for anything, simply say it’s yours. Don’t feel greedy or modest. It’s not like your taking everything from the universe. It’s infinite and for the taking. Don’t worry. You can’t possibly take everything. You always want to stay, think and say positive. People don’t like negativity in their circle unless that’s how they receive their vitamins and minerals. If that’s the case then they are always trying to bring you down. Whatever you vibe off, learn yourself.
