Wassup Everybody!
Well, I’ve found a night job. I’m Valet at the airport. GRAVEYARD SHIFT!! Yes. I finally found a job that will leave my days OPEN! It’s amazing but a lot of the drivers feel sorry for me… poor oh me. They believe I can not find a decent paying job. They don’t know at the “Jesus Year” I decided to make a left when everyone was going right and got into acting. Valet can be quite cut throat. I almost feel like I’m hustling in the streets again in my teenage and early 20′s years.
The family will be here in JUNE!! I can’t wait to reunite after almost an entire year. We will be living in the GROVE in Los Angeles! My better half is amazing and incredibly supportive. California has made me realize that every state has it’s beauty, you just have to be willing to explore it. And what better people to do that with than my family.
I finished the pilot and submitted it to FOX/FX. It’s amazing how the characters came to life. You really feel like it is your baby. My friend, touched up small details and I was on him like a bird watching her eggs. I didn’t trust him and was shockingly concerned. I never thought I could react like that. We spoke about it later. We agreed that any changes that he feels need to be made he will jot them down on paper. I will make the changes myself. Also, if you are working with a friend, clarify creative rights. I strongly felt and I guess still feel that this is my idea. But that’s because I wrote the entire story, most of the characters, and 99.9% percent of the jokes. That’s why I feel that but I also know, it would have never came together as quickly as it did without my friend’s help. He also felt as the creator. Imagine, two parents fighting on whose child is it’s. Sounds like we were in a custody battle. I think my ego took a big leap and began declaring it. A lot of the characters and there situations are based on people I’ve known as well as my experiences… Big I‘s and little u‘s can make things so confusing. The truth is we work well with each other. Him as an advisor, editor, pacer, and overall understanding of TV/Film and I as a writer, idealist, and comedian of life’s experiences. I’m RAW/He’s REFINED. He complete’s me. Yada, yada, yada. LOL! The point is speak about it. It’s the best thing for friendship and working relationships.
I’ve written a few more things. Mainly shorts. One is a RoMedy, he, he, he. Romantic Comedy, The other is a … I guess, I don’t know. Whatever Ocean’s 11 would be. I met a Cinematographer and he would like to shoot the Romantic Comedy. I’m on a hunt for a female. I have two in mind. I just have to see which one bites. I will keep you posted with updates.
Since Wednesday of last week till Wednesday of this week I have gone out on more auditions than I’ve been on for the past 3 months. A friend of mine, fellow “working” actor, has told me it’s been a very, very slow pilot season. It’s the industry he says and none of his colleagues know what the hell is going on. I meet with him so we can tackle some reads and let me tell you, it feels invigorating to practice your craft. I am so done on performing with a theatre. Those were my first “job” as an actor. The theatre made me a “working” actor for 7 months. There’s nothing like performing. The theatre!
